Shelley Baker - Aromatic Therapy
Wilton Village isn’t just about shops and cafes — it’s about the people who make it feel like a community. And one of those people is Shelley, who has been helping visitors slow down, rest, and feel more like themselves for over 30 years. Her love of plants and wellbeing started in childhood, spending time with her grandfather, an incredible gardener. Even at three years old, Shelley was curious not just about the “pretty flowers” he showed her, but about what they did. That early fascination eventually led her to study science, before retraining as a Clinical Aromatherapist and specialising in Aromatic Medicine. At Wilton Village, Shelley brings the science and magic of aromatherapy to life. She works with people who struggle with stress, sleep, or pain, helping them discover practical, evidence-based ways to use essential oils, massage, and relaxation techniques. Her approach combines modern research with centuries of plant wisdom, and she loves sharing simple tools that clients can take home — from soothing sleep rituals to small, everyday moments of calm. Her motto is “there’s nothing selfish about self care”.Shelley also runs workshops for anyone wanting to learn how to make their own aromatherapy products. These sessions are a favourite for visitors who want to explore creativity with essential oils while understanding how they support wellbeing. From bespoke bath oils to scented sprays and relaxation blends, participants leave feeling inspired and equipped to continue their self-care at home.Alongside her private practice at Wilton Village, Shelley spends time in the NHS at Salisbury Hospital, supporting patients across specialist units including oncology, burns, and NICU. This work further strengthens her evidence-based approach and her dedication to supporting people’s health and wellbeing in every context.Having someone like Shelley on site adds a unique layer to the village. It’s not just about shopping — it’s about discovering spaces where you can pause, recharge, and reconnect with yourself. Her aromatherapy treatments, workshops, and tips create a calm sanctuary amid the bustle of everyday life, perfectly complementing the independent shops, creative spaces, and cafes that make Wilton Village feel so welcoming. We’re proud to have Shelley here, quietly helping people feel better while adding to the warmth, character, and community spirit that makes Wilton Village so special.
